De-pals Care Foundation marks Gov. AbdulRazaq’s 66th birthday, applauds his outstanding support for elderly
The Chief Executive Officer of De-pals Care Foundation, Hajiya Asmau Bimpe Yusuf, has showered heartfelt praises on the Governor of Kwara State, and the chairman of the Nigeria Governor's Forum ( NGF)Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq , as he marks his 66 birthday.
Hajiya Asmau who described Gov. AbdulRazaq as a compassionate leader whose administration has transformed the lives of aged and vulnerable citizens across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Board, management, staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries of the foundation, Hajia Yusuf noted that the Governor’s birthday presents an opportunity not only to celebrate his life but also to acknowledge his exemplary leadership, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and social welfare.
According to her, Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has consistently demonstrated uncommon empathy and responsiveness to the needs of senior citizens, a group often neglected in public policy.
She emphasized that the Governor’s deliberate focus on the welfare of older people aligns strongly with the mission of De-pals Care Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting the dignity, care, and overall well-being of older persons in society.
The foundation particularly commended the Governor for his sustained interventions targeted at retired civil servants in Kwara State.
The regular and consistent payment of retirees’ entitlements and pensions, she noted, has brought immense relief to elderly citizens who devoted their productive years to the service of the state, restoring their dignity and easing the burden on their families.
Hajia Yusuf also highlighted the impact of social support initiatives such as Owo Arugbo, describing it as a landmark programme that reflects the Governor’s deep concern for the older People.
Through this financial support scheme, many older people have been empowered to meet basic needs and live more comfortable and dignified lives.
She added that the distribution of palliatives and other welfare packages has further helped to cushion the effects of economic hardship on senior citizens.
In the area of healthcare, the De-pals Care Foundation applauded the Governor’s commitment to medical outreach programmes and improved access to essential health services for older people.
These interventions, she said, have significantly improved health outcomes while reinforcing the principle that quality healthcare is fundamental to the dignity and longevity of older persons.
The foundation also expressed appreciation for Governor AbdulRazaq’s recognition and encouragement of non-governmental organizations working at the grassroots.
Hajia Yusuf noted that his inclusive leadership style, which values collaboration with civil society organizations, has strengthened the capacity of groups like De-pals Care Foundation to compliment government efforts in serving vulnerable populations.
Describing the Governor’s leadership as humane and people-centered, she stated that his policies and programmes have set a lasting standard for governance rooted in empathy, accountability, and service.
